CANADIAN SYNC AWARDS ANNOUNCE PERFORMERS AND OPENING OF SUBMISSIONS FOR THE HUEY AWARD

May 2, 2024 - The Guild of Music Supervisors, Canada (GMSC) and Canadian Music Week (CMW) are thrilled to announce the performers for the 2024 Canadian Sync Awards, and that submissions are now open for The Huey Award.
The Canadian Sync Awards will take place on Monday, June 3, 2024, at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto and include performances by: pagan-punk-poet Nyssa, whose recent sophomore album Shake Me Where I’m Foolish was released by Six Shooter Records; Atlanta by way of Toronto hip hop artist SadBoi, fresh off her hot single “Baddies”; and melody maven ari hicks, who has 3.9 million likes on TikTok and counting.
The Canadian Sync Awards will also feature “The Huey” Award, an annual award honouring legendary music supervisor David Hayman, who passed away in May 2020.
“The Huey”, which includes a $1500 honorarium, will be bestowed upon an aspiring music supervisor who has passion for the craft. The award is generously sponsored by The Greater Goods Co. The Canadian Sync Awards celebrates the craft of music supervision in filmed media in Canada with the presentation of 18 awards, including the previously announced inaugural Impact Award which will be presented to Patrick Watson.
